Casabeza turns your home into a living inventory — tracking what you own, what it costs, what needs doing, where everything is, and what the right people need to know.
The idea
Every appliance has a model number, a purchase date, a maintenance history. Every consumable has a price that changes. Every room has tasks that recur. Most households track none of it — until something breaks, runs out, or gets lost.
Casabeza is the platform that captures all of it. Not with spreadsheets. Not with sticky notes. With a purpose-built system that connects your physical home to a living, searchable record.

From the garage to the pantry, from long-term projects to daily checklists.
The physical layer
Stick an NFC tag on an appliance. Scan it with your phone. Instantly see its history, its tasks, its documents. Casabeza bridges the gap between the physical objects in your home and the digital records that describe them.
Deploy fixed readers at doorways or storage areas and let your home log itself — tracking item movements, stock levels, and more, automatically over MQTT. A dedicated dual-channel NFC scanner with visual confirmation indicators handles high-throughput logging without touching a phone.

Not everything in your home record is private. Tenants need to know where the stopcock is. Guests need the boiler instructions. A tradesperson needs to know what was last serviced and when.
Share views let you publish a scoped, read-only snapshot of exactly the information that matters to someone — grouped by location, annotated for the recipient, and accessible without an account. Set an expiry date and the link disappears when the tenancy ends.

The Casabeza desktop client is a compiled Rust binary — not a web app in a wrapper. Nine modular async HTTP clients handle backend communication with connection pooling and typed, zero-copy deserialisation. The UI never waits on a network call.
Two native Android apps cover the most time-sensitive mobile workflows. The scanner publishes NFC, barcode, and QR events over MQTT in milliseconds — no latency, no blocking. The numerics app puts a live price-history chart and four-tap price logging in your pocket at the shelf. Both run on Kotlin and Jetpack Compose with seven perceptually-tuned colour themes.
